For those of you who really didn't know Charlie, here is a little
background. He was a 32 degree Mason, and a member of the Order of The
Arrow, and an Eagle Scout. He was involved in every organization that
he was a member of including the Sons of the American Legion. Aside
from working for F.E.M.A. for approximately 25 years, he saw the world
from a completely different aspect. He had a great passion for the
Masons, Boy Scouts of America, and was a huge part of the Sons of the
American Legion. Through the guidance of his father Carl C. Ward,
Charlie started in the Sons at a very young age. He gained respect for
the work that he had accomplished and was currently serving as
Legislative Chairman, for the Detachment of Texas. This was a position
he truly loved!! Charlie was an avid outdoors man, a bull fight expert,
and he made many a female smile. One of Charlie's favorite sayings was
"This is Who we are, This is what we do, and This is where we do it!!".
He also was instrumental in starting the 15th. District and the 3rd.
Division of the Sons, he always said that the reason he attends the
D.E.C.'s and Conventions is to keep everybody straight!!! Charlie will
be truly missed by all that knew him, and many will be at a loss for
words.
